Holiday Lunch
Today at work we have our holiday lunch. It's something our floor does on our own. Everyone brings in a food item, and we spend a few hours eating. Should be fun. In past years, the entire computer department had an official "holiday lunch", but it was canceled this year due to budget cuts (even though we had paid $10 to go in the first place...). We are still allowed to have the party on our floor because we don't use funds from the budget. How about you guys? Was anyone else's holiday party (or holiday lunch) cancelled? Do you guys work at places that pay for a party? Vote in my poll!!!

My boss is as cheap as they come. Last year, he had a party but it was held at some lounge/bar that his friend owned so it didn't cost him a cent to have it.
This year, he didn't have a party or make any mention of one at all. So, my co-workers had our own little party during a lunch hour which we did secret santa. I wasn't there because I took the day off. The following week, we found out that the boss did have a christmas party.... but only for management. The little people really don't matter to him.
Wow. At least our place told us flat out that there wasn't going to be a party. Word always gets out about management parties - I'm surprised your boss acts like that because no one will have any loyalty there. Oh well!
